Well, sort of.

Couple of opportunities from the latest email newsletter from the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras (arrived today Mon 18th) –

1. Camerata Ireland Academy, 16 – 21 August 2018

Camarata Ireland are now accepting applications from outstanding young musicians to participate in the Camerata Ireland Academy at the Clandeboye Festival taking place from 16-21 August. The festival offers an opportunity for young musicians to work with the Artists-In-Residence as they teach, rehearse and perform in the beautiful surroundings of the Clandeboye Estate just outside Belfast.
Applicants must have been born on or after 1st September 1992. For further information on how to apply, please see the Camerata Ireland website.]

2. Opera North Orchestra Academy – Applications open for violin and viola

The Opera North Orchestra Academy is an immersive orchestral training programme for outstanding young musicians age 14 – 19 Grade 7+ from across the North of England and beyond taking place 28 August – 1 September in Leeds College of Music.

In the initial application has closed however, they are still looking for violinists and violists to join the course. Bursary places are available for those who wouldn’t be able to attend without financial support.
