The National School’s Ukulele Programme brings music to life through 24 weekly tutor-led sessions delivered throughout the school year.
Using the ukulele as their instrument of discovery, students develop a strong foundation in key musical concepts including rhythm and beat, pitch, major and minor tonality, dynamics, tempo, and genre. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, students gain practical musical skills while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Designed to inspire and motivate young learners, the programme offers students an exciting introduction to instruments and provides the perfect starting point for their music education.
The year culminates in a special Ukulele Concert at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny. This memorable performance gives students the opportunity to showcase their achievements on stage, celebrate their progress, and work towards a rewarding shared goal with their classmates.
See how we surprised teachers from our participating national schools by inviting them on stage for a special performance during the 2025/2026 Ukulele Concert!!
