DMEP tuition calendar for 2017-18 – unveiled!
See below for DMEP calendar of music classes for 2017/18.
We’re looking forward to keeping all our tutors (and hopefully some new ones) busy in 2017-2018! And it’s looking good, with lots of people phoning in to go on the waiting list.
This time last year we saw an increase in people signing up for our performing groups as well. We’re hoping to have another increase for this year.
The Donegal Youth Orchestra has an exciting few months coming up, with a trip to Arranmore Island first thing (Sunday 10th Sept.), the Christmas concert at An Grianan and then the National Concert Hall on Saturday 11th February.
The Donegal Youth Choir is off on its travels next year and is going from strength-to-strength under conductor Sara Laughlin, as is the Dungloe Junior Choir. Riana Lynch is looking forward to her second year with the Letterkenny Junior Choir, and Evan McGarrigle is continuing his work with the Carrick Junior Choir. For the adults, there’s the Errigal Singers with Margaret McAteer. So if you like singing, sign up!
In all we have almost 500 people in music classes – strings, woodwind, piano, percussion, singing. Most of these are 1 – to – 1. And we have around 350 in performing groups. That’s a lot of music happening in this corner. Great!
